The Kidney and Ureter

The kidneys are connected to the bladder by narrow tubes known as the ureters. As the kidneys remove many of the toxins – by-products of normal metabolism - from the blood stream to form urine, the chemical composition within the kidney varies enormously. This makes them susceptible to stone formation and people who form stones often require surgery.

Procedures related to the Kidney and Ureter performed by St George Urology include:

Insertion and Removal of Ureteric Stents

Laser Surgery for Kidney Stones or Ureteric Stones

Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
