Fees and Payment

 St George Urology is a specialist surgical practise. In general, fees charged are those recommended by the Australian Medical Association.

Your Consultation

You will be required to pay at the time of your consultation.

If you have brought a referral from your GP, you will be entitled to a Medicare rebate for a portion of your consultation fee. This rebate can be delivered electronically into your account if you are registered with Medicare

Surgical Fees

If you require surgery you will be provided with a full quote for your operation. Your health fund may pay a proportion of this account – it depends on your fund and level of cover. You may discuss your quote with staff at St George Urology at anytime. In general, you will be required to pay for your surgery when invoiced, and then you will be able to claim against your fund and Medicare with your receipt.

It is important to remember when you are admitted to hospital for an operation, your fund may require you to pay an excess before admission.

Also, you will need to pay the Anaesthetist’s account. St George Urology will supply you with contact details for the Anaesthetist present at your operation so you can obtain a quote.

Depending on your surgery you may also receive accounts for:

  • Pathology.

  • Radiology.

  • Pharmacy.
